A Tour of RIMC Dehradun
The RASHTRIYA INDIAN MILITARY COLLEGE (RIMC) is a military school for boys and girls with the motto Bal Vivek(Strength and Conscience) situated in the Doon Valley, Dehradun in India. RIMC is actually a feeder institution to the National Defense Academy, the Indian Naval Academy and later the Indian Armed Forces. It was established on 13th March 1922. It was formerly known as PRINCE OF WALES ROYAL INDIAN MILITARY COLLEGE. Prince of Wales Edward VIII was the founder of this institution. The Rimcollians, the name by which alumni of the RIMC are usually identified, have gone on to hold the highest positions in the Army, Navy and the Air Force of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Getting Into RIMC Dehradun
Dreaming about the higher ranks in military and not getting into RIMC sounds unrealistic! The candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, All India Entrance Examination comprising a written examination of question papers in English of 125 marks, Mathematics 200 marks and General Knowledge of 75 marks. The candidates who will qualify the written examination will further be called for the Viva-Voce test of 50 marks. This entrance examination is held twice a year.
RIMC Dehradun Eligibility
The candidates shouldn’t be less than 11½ years of age or must not have attained the age of 13 on 1st January or 1st July of the Term they join in. Candidates need to get admitted in class VIII only. The candidate must be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from a recognised school at the time of joining and application forms are to be submitted to the respective State Governments.
RIMC Dehradun Exam Syllabus
For English, the candidates need to prepare :- Grammar, Essay Writing, letter Writing, Story Writing, Synonyms and Antonyms, Composition, Idioms and Phrases, Unseen Passage, One Word Substitution and Miscellaneous
For Mathematics :- Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra and Geometry
For General Knowledge :- Current Affairs, Sports, General Science and Technology, History, Geography, Economy and Politics of India
RIMC Dehradun Admission 2023
Candidates need to apply for RIMC admission 2023 before 25th April 2023. Candidates can take admission forms from RIMC Dehradun, Garhi Cantt Dehradun either by paying the prospectus cum Application Form Fee online or by sending a demand draft in favour of The Commandant, RIMC. The duly filled form is to be sent to respective State Governments. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on 4th June 2023 all over the country. The RIMC application form 2023 DD, Challan and fee is Rs. 600/- for General and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidate should be submitted with the Admission form. The admission fee can be drafted through Online Payment method and Post is also available now.
