The Indian Army is inviting applications for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) from eligible unmarried male and female engineering graduates, as well as widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who died in harness. This course is set to commence in October 2024 at the Pre-Commissioning Training Academy (PCTA).
The applicant must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. For SSC (Tech)- 63 Men and SSCW (Tech) and women, the age limit is 20 to 27 years as of 01 Oct 2024 (born between 02 Oct 1997 and 01 Oct 2004).
For Widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel: SSCW (Non-Tech) [Non-UPSC] and SSCW(Tech) – Maximum of 35 years as of 01 Oct 2024. Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate’s recorded date of birth will be accepted.
The applicant must have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or be in the final year of the Engineering Degree course, final-year candidates must submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination with mark sheets by 01 Oct 2024. Final-year candidates will be inducted on an Additional Bond Basis.
Application Criteria
1. Applications are accepted only online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
2. Click on ‘Officer Entry Apply/Login’ and then ‘Registration’ (not required if already registered).
3. Fill out the online form, read the instructions carefully, and click ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard.
4. Fill details under Personal information, Communication details, Education details, and previous SSB details. Save & Continue after each segment.
5. After filling in details, move to the page ‘Summary of your information,’ check and edit entries, then click ‘Submit.’
6. Take two copies of the application with Roll Number 30 minutes after the final closure of the online application.
Keep in mind to submit one copy of the signed and self-attested Printout of the application with a photograph, matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate and Marksheet,12th class mark sheet, and certificate or equivalent certificate/diploma mark sheet and certificate (for Diploma holders). Also for the Engineering graduates, add your Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by the recognized university and mark sheets for all semesters/years.
