DECODING THE FACTORS BEHIND CALCULATING COMPOSITE SCORE FOR CAT BASED MBA ENTRANCE INTERVIEW

In CAT (Common Admission Test) based MBA entrance interviews in India, there are several factors on which the score depends. Some of the factors on which CAT score is dependent is –

  • First and foremost, CAT Score – CAT Score plays the major role in calculating the score. It includes the sum total of the student’s qualitative as well as communication or verbal skills.  
  • Work Experience – The candidate should have a past experience in the case of under graduation or post graduation scores.   
  • The documents which need to be carried – Marksheets of 10th and 12th and bachelor’s degree as well, if going for post graduation admission, resume and CV and pre educational certificates.
  • Academic background – If a student which is preparing for the interview has any extra academic background, it would add extra points in the final score.
  • Personal Interview – The most important aspect is the Personal Interview round. It actually checks the knowledge of the student and their capability. It is the proper way to check the clarity of the thought of the candidate, if he/she is suitable foe the MBA Program or not.
  • Co-Curricular Activities – To check a person’s all round personality, some places may assess the participation of sports or cultural events.
  • Group Discussions – In every interview, Group discussion plays the main role. It not only checks the knowledge of the student, it also checks about their communication skills or how are they able to convey themselves or put themselves in front of others. Group discussions check the on-spot knowledge and spontaneity of the candidate. It plays a significant role in calculating composite score.
  • State Domicile – Wherever the institution lies, if the student has the domicile of that state, the student will get the benefit of it.
  • Reserved Categories – The reserved category candidates, OBC, SC, ST, PwD, EWS also gets benefits of their caste certificates.
  • Extra Certificates – For composite score calculation, certificates of different fields are evaluated. It gives extra points of the student.
