Marks allotted for Dropped Questions in the Final Answer Key

NTA released a Final Provisional Answer Key after accepting the challenges filed by candidates on 22nd July 2023. 4 Questions were dropped by NTA due to some errors in either option or in the question itself. Candidates were confused about the rules of marks allotment for such Dropped Questions. Earlier NTA had the policy to award marks to only those candidates who have attempted that particular question. But this time, NTA has allotted Full marks for the Dropped Questions regardless of whether they are being attempted or not.

Some students are happy to get full marks for such dropped questions but a few are concerned over the fact that if someone has already attempted 10 questions (maximum limit) in a particular section then how additional marks will be awarded for dropped questions. NTA is yet to make a clarification on this.

Release of Ranks & Certificate of Qualification

The NTA will release the All India Ranking, Cut-offs, and Qualification Certificate a few days after releasing the Scorecard. This might be done to avoid any challenge to Scorecard after providing ranks & cut-offs because any change in even one scorecard will affect the All India Rankings & Cut-offs. To be noted, a candidate named Ramandeep Kaur challenged the CSIR NET Result in Punjab-Haryana High Court in 2017. After this, the court declared the decision in favor of Ramandeep Kaur & CSIR rereleased her Scorecard.
