Getting admission to a college is a long procedure from a preferred set of college selections to getting admission to the desired college. After all this one of the major processes is that of collecting and submitting a set of documents that are required by the college to complete the admission procedure. All these are collected to check the authenticity of the student enrolling as well as getting a list of documents that they have as an academic and identity credibility. All of these are as follows:
- 10th class Marksheet
- 12th class Marksheet
- Provisional Certificate (this is a certificate issued for a temporary period which can let you avail admission in the college in case one’s mark sheet is yet not released and later they can submit the original mark sheet when provided with)
- Migration Certificate (this certificate means that the previous institute is authenticating that you have completed study from your previous college and are eligible to be admitted to another institute for further studies)
- Character Certificate (this is a certificate that is issued by the government/ police/ the concerned previous institute one was a part of stating that the student doesn’t sustain any bad behaviour or criminal record)
- Transfer Certificate (A proof stating that the student has studied in his/her previous institute)
- Gap Certificate (if there is any gap in the study of the student due to any valid reason mentioned in the certificate)
- Caste Certificate [this is required because if a person belongs to a particular caste (OBC/SC/ST etc.) or category(Pwd/ somewhere even females etc.) then they can avail reservation on the set amount of seats allotted for that particular type in the college and sometimes can even avail concession in the fees they are submitting as tuition fees. In this caste certificate if someone belongs to a non-creamy Obc layer category then they need to also submit it separately if haven’t taken admission under a general category)
- Passport Size Photo (10-20 recently clicked coloured photographs)
- Address Proof (this can be any Aadhar card or driving license or voter id or ration card etc.)
Depending on the preference of the college some documents need to be submitted in an original format which gets returned to the student after a few months of admission completion and the other document’s photocopy needs to be submitted which needs to be self-attested. After the submission of all the above necessary documents and getting a confirmation letter from the college that all documents submitted are approved, one can raise the tuition fees.
All these documents in today’s era are submitted in two ways i.e. in offline and online modes. In the case of online mode, certain key points also need to be paid attention to which involves the size and the extension type of each of the documents that are getting submitted. Also, this is the normal document list that every college asks for. But in case any person is preferring to take admitted to a foreign university then some more documents that they need to collect and submit include an SOP (Statement of Purpose), an IELTS/TOEFL/GMAT, etc. paper if someone is coming from a non-English speaking country. The result of all these needs to be submitted.
